This How-To explains how to use a program called Total Uninstall to backup a program from one PC to another PC. All the programs I have tested this with have worked and had all the same configurations as on the PC it was backed up from.
The example I use here is Evernote v.4.5.3. Once I completed the process everything was fully functional and didn't even have to log in on the other PC.

I will say that this method is not guaranteed to work on all software/programs and there is no way to know for sure without trying it. Please check any licensing agreement of the software to make sure copying of the software is allowed.
This How-To was created awhile back and there may be better/easier solutions available now that I am unaware of.
11 Steps total
Step 1: Open up Total Uninstall
Here you will see the list of programs available. I typed in Evernote in the search box to single out the application I will be working with.
Step 2: Analyze the program for all associated files
Right click the application you want to transfer and hover over analyze and click advanced.
Step 3: Create a backup of program
After program has finished analyzing click file > Create the backup for the program..
After prompt opens click create and then finish.
Step 4: Export registry entries for program
Now go ahead and go back to file and this time hover over export and click registry changes.
Leave all the default settings and click OK. Under Save As navigate to C:ProgramDataMartauTotal Uninstall 6Backup and go ahead and save there.
Step 5: Get the Security Identifier(SID) of your user account
Go to the computer you are going to copy this to and open Command Prompt(click Windows start button and in the run box type 'cmd.exe' without quotes).
Once you have Command Prompt open type the command 'wmic useraccount get name, sid' without quotes.
This should list all SID's for all users on the computer.
Step 6: Edit registry file so it will work on other computer
Now in Windows Explorer navigate to C:ProgramDataMartauTotal Uninstall 6Backup (you may have to enable show for hidden files and folders)
Right click the registry file you created and click edit, it should bring it up in notepad.
From there should be towards the top, select the SID that appears as the following
S-#-#-##-##########-#########-##########-#### and copy it.
Press ctrl+h and in the find what box paste the number sequence you just copied.
In the replace with box you want to type in the number you took down from the other computer.
Now click replace all and then save and exit the registry file.
Step 7: Copy files to flash drive
Studio One V.4.5.3 Full
Copy the registry file and the backup file to a flash drive(in my case it would be Evernote v. 4.5.3.Analyzed.zip and Evernote v. 4.5.3.Install.reg)
Step 8: Paste files to the backup folder
On the computer your going to be transferring this to navigate to C:ProgramDataMartauTotal Uninstall 6Backup. Once you are here paste the files you put on your flash drive.
Step 9: Restore backup on other computer
Open up Total Uninstall on your computer and click File > Restore a program from backup..
Select the program you want to restore from list and click restore and then finish.
Step 10: Import programs registry settings
Studio One V.4.5.3 Online
Navigate now to where you pasted your backup files, which should be C:ProgramDataMartauTotal Uninstall 6Backup.
Double click the registry file and click yes and then click ok.
Step 11: Test program to see that it works!
Now click Start and then All Programs and open up your program.
All settings should be there from the previous computer along with the program fully functional if everything worked properly.
Studio One V.4.5.3 2
At the end of this Evernote was up and running fully functional and automatically signed me in my account just like on the previous computer I created the backup from.

I will have to try this one day, it sounds a little complicated, but could really be worth it.

It is complicated, but once you get the process down it is actually pretty quick and simple.
It has been very useful a few times where the installation files weren't readily available anywhere.

Hi, glad you found my how-to helpful. I will be happy to try to walk you through the process.
What exact step are you trying to complete now?
- JalapenoRalliden Sep 10, 2012 at 08:06pm
Sorry over looked what you said.
You will need to have Total Uninstall installed on the computer you are transferring to also. If this is already done and the folder still isn't their you can create that folder yourself.

Hi..tnx for sharing;
But I'm kind of stock at steps 5 & 6, can't get to the 'Volatile Environment' you talked about. waiting for ur response
tnx once again - JalapenoRalliden Oct 18, 2012 at 12:37pm
Hi and not a problem at all. Happy to see others finding it helpful.
Do you see the folders labeled S-#-#-##-##########-#########-##########-#### with the number signs being actual numbers? If so we need to manually open each of those folders until you see the folder 'Volatile Environment'. This will exist for which ever account on the computer you are looking for and it will give you the account name. Basically we are doing this to verify which one of the ID's is the right one to use. - PimientoOjeg Oct 18, 2012 at 02:22pm
Wow, tnx so much. It worked!

Not a problem at all happy to hear it worked out for you. I have yet to see another method that actually works. So I figured I would share my method out there to help others.

Okay, glad to help. But what do you mean by password protected installation files?
I have not personally tried visual studio, but everything I have tried it with had worked flawlessly and kept well settings and everything.

Programs that need a license key. I installed a program and it still required the license key. Is it possible to restore a program that's paid version ? Thanks.

Hey Justin, I realize that your intentions are good for helping others in transferring programs, but I also point out that one needs to be careful when transferring, and make sure it's LEGAL to transfer a given program.
Some programs state that you cannot transfer it to another computer or peripheral, so users must make sure that they read up on their legal info before transferring programs
